$10 extra for you fatty

Canadian airlines recently decided that people should not have to pay for a second seat if they are too large to fit in just one. If they “spill over” into the next seat leaving it occupied, should they pay for the extra seat?

  1. They should have to buy the seat. It's just like eating two hamburgers and only wanting to pay for one because you weren't hungry enough to eat two when you went into McDonald's.

If you don't like it, fly first class.

  2. It's a private company, they can charge whatever, for whatever they want as long as they give written notice of such charges to all customers.

But if it was my airline I would charge them extra for being so fat that they cannot fit into a standard seat. If they don't like it they can use some moderation and lose the weight.

  3. If I owned an airline I'd give really fat customers a coupon toward a fatty's cruise that would get them in general direction of their desired destination, a few pounds lighter and get them off my plane. I don't mind fat people but even in coach I think I'll increase sales if I'm known as a fat free airline.

  4. If you are too large to fit in the seat then maybe you should be checked with the luggage below, haha
